Folamour launches House Of Love

Welcoming fellow Frenchman Kousto for the imprint's first release.

A project combining expansive music with carefully curated events across the world, the first release sees Kousto release his four-track ‘When We Were There’ EP featuring a collaboration with the label boss himself on 10th February.

Folamour, the French DJ and producer best known for his releases on Classic Music Company, Moonrise Hill Material and his FHUO Records imprint, launches his new label House Of Love this February as he welcomes London-based French DJ/producer Kousto to open the imprint.

A label built around one idea -
“to create an environment for you to dream”

The project will also see the House Of Love boss curate a series of events across the globe within significant cities and places that share the values of the label, creating a safe space for attendees to dance and share experiences - building on several showcases last year with shows in Amsterdam, London, Milan, Barcelona, Brussels and more scheduled for 2023.

“I’ve always had a project in mind that would be a label and events, linking music to emotions to create a moment of symbiosis. This is where House of Love started. Music that would tell stories and events filled with emotions and love.
There won’t be any limits to the music we’ll release; as long as it brings me moves and feelings, it will have a home at HoL.

The first release is a perfect example of that. Kousto did an amazing job at creating a world of his own, where he welcomes us to have to dream in a dance. I just can’t wait for everyone to be taken on his journey.” - Folamour.

The first House of Love release comes from rising French talent Kousto

who follows up EPs on his own Little Foot Records and praise from artists such as Honey Dijon and Laurent Garnier to deliver three original productions alongside an absorbing collaboration with Folamour across ‘When We Were There’ on 10th February.

Kousto - When We Were There EP House of love

The four tracks explore the concept of ‘future memories of the past’, shining a spotlight on Kousto’s spiritual influences and approach to making music with storytelling qualities. Opening track ‘Friendship For Lovers’ looks set to be one of the EP’s most memorable tracks. Inspired by love and friendship, Kousto describes it as “an audio expression of the great things that can be achieved - things that would never happen alone - when two people come together”, fusing sonics of the future while offering a tribute to those that have shaped his best memories.

Next, ‘Jungle Bird’ sees Kousto and Folamour combine for the first time, with the label boss providing original vocals and lyrics accented by organic percussion, steel drums and deep, rich pads to capture a swathe of world musical influences.

Kousto’s ‘Early Flight’ aims to mirror the sun as it travels from dawn to dusk, providing an emotional journey guided by cocooned sonics that gently unfurl to release a myriad of emotions. The aptly titled ‘I Hope It Never Ends’ closes the package with a track inspired by rare moments of pure bliss amongst friends and family, with a soft, dreamy, yet high-energy quality made for club
environments.
